The Marantz CD-593 is using the reference implentation for the CD format from Philips. It comes with the TDA-1543 DAC that is the later brother of the TDA-1541. These chips are know for their warm analog sound. The Philips CDM-4 transport here in this unit is also a bit special, it is moving in a half circular motion to the differen tracks of the CD.
A great unit that sounds very natural and is a great addition to any HiFi setup.
