The 8-Track format is often completely overlooked. It has a lot to offer. The audio quality is on par with a good normal position tape, played on a Cassette Deck. But the 8-Track cassette got 4 different programs on it that can be selected from the front. The tape is on a single spool on an endless loop. You never rewind an 8-Track tape.
This unit can also record on 8-Track tape and is overall well built. It was sold in the years 1974/75 and is a joy to look at and use.
To get this unit back in working order the below service was carried out:
- Replacement of broken bulbs
- Removal of capstan wheel, polishing of surface that touches the tape
- Deep cleaning of record/playback head
- Demagnetisation of record/playback head
- Lubrication of the whole mechanism and capstan
- Contact cleaning of all sliding contacts
- Full function test
An adapter cable from DIN to RCA is included so it can be hooked up to a moderm amp
We provide 6 months warranty for this item.
